Kate Pierce, who is currently thirteen months old and cynical, is depressed while spending Christmas with her mother Claire, brother Teddy, mom’s new boyfriend Bob, and his son Jack in Cancún, Mexico. She wants to go back home where it is snowing and feels more like Christmas. Kate makes the decision to flee and book an early domestic flight to Boston.
